Photographie très rare provenant de l’agence Kestone et acquis par Adama. Il date de la fin du XIXe siècle (circa. 1890), il s’agit d’une photographie exceptionnelle par sa qualité et sa netteté montrant la colline de Cumorah (Palmyra – Etat de New York) dans son état originel, telle qu’elle fut vue par Joseph Smith le 22 septembre 1827. C’est dans cette colline qu’il découvrit les plaques semblables à de l’or, dont la traduction inspirée donna au monde le Livre de Mormon. Ce cliché ancien proche de l’événement dans le temps, nous montre la colline de Cumorah avec ses pentes quasi-parfaites, qui ont fait dire à certains chercheurs qu’il s’agissant d’un tertre ou d’une petite pyramide cachée par la terre. Il s’agit d’un document magnifique, véritablement exceptionnel, et véritable témoignage photographique de cet endroit comparable à nul autre par sa signification, et les vestiges qu’il contenait.
Photography very rare coming from the Kestone agency and acquired by Adama. It completion date of the XIXe century (circa. 1890), it acts of an exceptional photograph by its quality and its clearness showing the hill of Cumorah (Palmyra - State of New York) in its original state, such as it was seen by Joseph Smith on September 22, 1827.
